Get to know us: Shagbark Seed & Mill was launched by the Appalachian Staple Foods Collaborative in 2010 to build a prototype regional grain and bean processing facility that brings high nutrition sustainably grown crops back to our farm and back to our bellies. We started Shagbark Seed & Mill to connect farmers, bakers, chefs, and brewers in Ohio and Appalachia to de-commodify the commodities. The result? Good eating, good company,clean water and healthy soil that affirm that food security is tied to organic, fresh, and local grain and bean varieties. After all, they account for most of the world's diet, calories, nutrition, and cropland.. Now you can enjoy the harvest of organic grain, bean, and other staple seed crops--all grown and made in our region.
